Monday, March 5: County Candidate filing begins. Democratic, Libertarian and Republican candidates for County offices can begin filing nomination papers in the Auditor's office.

Wednesday, March 28: County Candidate filing deadline. Last day for Democratic, Libertarian and Republican candidates to file nomination papers in the Auditor's office by 5:00 p.m.
Monday, May 7: Absentee Voting can begin at 8:00 AM in the Auditor’s Office and first day to mail out Absentee Ballots
Friday, May 25:
- Deadline to request an Absentee ballot by mail. Absentee Ballot Request forms must be received in the Auditor’s Office by 5:00 PM, Friday, May 25th in order for an absentee ballot to be mailed.
- Voter Pre-Registration Deadline.
- Auditor's office will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The deadline to pre-register to vote for the Primary election is 5 p.m. This applies to registration in person (including registration at driver’s license stations or agencies) or by mail.
Exceptions: Mailed registration forms postmarked on or before Monday, May 21st, are considered on time even if they are received after 5 p.m. on May 25th.
After May 25th, a person may register to vote at the auditor’s office or a satellite voting station and vote an absentee ballot. The process is the same as for registering to vote on election day.
Monday, May 28: Memorial Day. Office closed
Monday, June 4: Last day for early voting in the Auditor's office. Auditor's office will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesday, June 5: Election Day. Polls open 7 a.m to 9 p.m. Polling locations can be found here or you may call the Auditor's office at 319-352-0340 for assistance in locating your polling place.
**Each voter will be asked to provide identification at the polling place before receiving and casting a ballot. Voters who do not have the necessary ID will be asked to sign an oath verifying their identity**
