Friends of Parsons Memorial Library Senior Scholarship

The Friends of Parsons Memorial Library will award one $250 scholarship to support post-secondary study in college, professional or trade school, or other post-secondary training or opportunities. The applicant must be an Alfred resident, a patron of Parsons Memorial Library, and be graduating from high school/completing their secondary education. 
To apply, candidate must submit an essay, minimum of 500 words, describing your connection to the library and the impact public libraries/Parsons Memorial Library has had on you. In addition, describe your future plans and how this scholarship will help support your goals. Essays are due by May 1st.
Essays will be judged by one library board member, one library staff member, and the Friends members.
Decision should be made by the end of May. The winner will be honored with a reception and a reading of their essay following the announcement. Winners must attend this event to receive their funds.
